NETIZEN

Built in Kampala for Ugandan communities

See a problem in your community? Report it in minutes.

Netizen lets you photograph blocked drainage, broken roads and other local issues, pin the exact location, and send it to the authority that should fix it.

The Netizen app's Report a Civic Issue screen, with category, description, photo and location fields

How Netizen works

Three simple steps from spotting a problem to getting it in front of the right people.

  1. Describe it

Choose an issue category, describe the problem in up to 250 characters and add a photo as proof.

  2. Pin it

Your location is filled in for you, and you can edit it, so the problem can be found on the ground.

  3. Route it

Netizen directs the report to the relevant local authority contact, using public information.

Live Map

Your neighbours may have already reported it. Just upvote.

The Live Map shows where issues were reported from. More upvotes show that more people are affected, and nearby residents get a warning before they run into the problem.

  • No duplicate reports. If someone has already reported the problem, upvote it instead of filing it again.

  • Warn each other. See how close you are to a broken road or a flood, and change direction before you reach it.

  • Only what is near you. Netizen uses your location to show issues in your area, not the whole city.
